WhatsApp Rolls Out ‘Keep in Chat’ Feature for Disappearing Messages, Sticker Maker Tool for iOS

A new feature that alters the way disappearing messages function on the messaging app has been introduced by WhatsApp. Users can now “keep” messages that are about to disappear in conversations, but senders will have control over which messages are kept. The messaging service has introduced a new “Keep in Chat” function that allows users to save a message for later access. The choice of whether the sender wants their messages saved by others rests solely with them. The messaging service has also released a fresh stable update for iOS that brings a brand-new sticker creator tool to users of Apple’s most recent operating system.

The messaging service notes in a recent blog post that while chats with fading messages do not last forever, users may now use the ‘Keep in Chat’ function to store the pertinent messages for later. However, the sender will determine whether other chat participants can save it for later. According to WhatsApp, the sender will be informed if a chat is saved.

Notably, users can access their saved WhatsApp messages in the Kept Messages folder and they will be identified by a bookmark icon. According to the messaging service owned by Meta, the capability is being made available to users worldwide.
